Warming Up for Boot Camp! (Practice Workout)


Greetings my friends!

For those of you who haven’t seen my posts, read my emails, or heard me talk about it, I am instructing a boot camp class beginning Wednesday, May 2nd.  I finally branched out and started my own company, FIRE UP! FITNESS LLC, and this is the first of many future programs and offerings I will have.  FIRE UP! FITNESS LLC is an extension of my love and passion for fitness, and I am so excited (fired up!!!) to be able to share it with you.  I have several who have signed up for boot camp or expressed interest, so I thought I would post a workout you can complete to give you a taste as to what Wednesday will bring (or the following Sunday if you’re attending the weekend classes).  No equipment required in this workout!  

Warm-Up:
30 Jumping Jacks
20 Squats
10 Pushups
40 High Knees
40 Butt Kicks
30 Jumping Jacks
10 Squat Jumps
10 Pushups
**Modifications will always be announced; for example, pushups on your knees and squat jumps just coming up to your tippy-toes**

Workout:
5 Burpees (no pushup)
30sec Fast Feet
5 Pushups
200m Sprint
30sec Rest

10 Burpees
15 Jumping Jacks
30 Floor Dips
10 Jump Squats
10 Jump Lunges
30sec Rest

30 Mountain Climbers
20 Jumping Jacks
10 Pushups
20 Jump Lunges
100m Side Squat Shuffle (right and left)
30sec Rest  

400m Run

REPEAT everything after the warm-up 1-2 more times (for 2-3 total times through)

So what did you think??  Tough, challenging, fun, devilish?  This is purely an example, but exercises in this warm-up workout will certainly be used.  If you’re up for stepping outside of your comfort zone, trying something new and seeing results this summer, I would encourage you to try out boot camp.  Even if it’s not with me, it is such a fun workout style with the camaraderie of other fitness fanatics surrounding you, and an instructor pushing you to your physical and mental limits.  Remember one of my favorite quotes…
